Unhype
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Unhype does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
What Unhype does
Unhype runs entirely inside your browser. To decide which posts to hide, it reads the text of pages on the supported sites locally, on your device. This processing happens in real time and is never recorded or sent anywhere.
What Unhype stores
Your settings (filtering on or off, strictness, your keyword lists, per site toggles) and simple local counts (how many posts were muted) are saved using the browser's own storage, on your device. You can export or clear them at any time from the options page.
What Unhype does not do
- No accounts and no sign in.
- No analytics and no tracking.
- No external servers. Nothing leaves your browser.
- No selling or sharing of data, because no data is collected.
Permissions
Unhype requests only the "storage" permission, used solely to save your settings and counts locally on your device.
